The Lobster Institute’s 21st annual U.S. – Canada Lobster Town Meeting will be held January 21-23, 2026, at the Delta Hotel in Moncton, New Brunswick, Canada. A complete program will be available next month, but preliminary agenda items include Fisheries Management in the U.S. and Canada; Science-Industry Collaborative Tagging Projects; Trade, Tariffs, and Traceability; Harvester and Shoreside Sector Updates.

Sessions run all day on January 22 and until noon on January 23. A $75 registration fee includes conference materials, breakfast (January 22 and 23), and lunch (January 22). The Delta offers a room rate of $174 CAD/night ($125 USD), which includes access to all hotel amenities. Thanks to the Klaus Sonnenberg Travel Fund, we are able to offer a limited number of free registrations for commercial fishermen. For more details on registering and reserving lodging, please visit the Lobster Institute’s events page at umaine/lobsterinstitute/events.
There will be a welcome banquet on Wednesday and a seafood reception on Thursday, for an additional fee, to allow more time for informal conversations and socializing with cross-border attendees. We will again offer complimentary exhibition booths to sponsors who wish to display their materials at the primary venue.
The 2026 Town Meeting will coincide with Fish Canada / Work Boat Canada at the Moncton Coliseum Complex, which kicks off in the afternoon, January 23. Event organizers are offering free entry to all Town Meeting attendees.
